MENTAL HEALTH AND FITNESS
About Course
COURSE OVERVIEW
Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. lt is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities and learn well and contribute to the community at large. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.
Fitness is defined as “one’s ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance, and strength with the management of disease, fatigue, and stress and reduced sedentary behavior.” This description goes beyond being able to run quickly or lift heavy weights.
Mental Health defines a state of complete mental, social well-being and not merely absence of disease. Fitness is an ability to execute daily functional activities with optimal performance, endurance, and strength to manage minimalist of disease, fatigue, stress and reduced sedentary behavior. We tend to reduce fitness down to what we look like. While body composition does come into it, it’s only one part of what fitness involves.
The WHO states that mental health is “more than just the absence of mental disorders or disabilities.” Peak mental health is not only about managing active conditions but also looking after ongoing wellness and happiness.
